Q. How do I configure my personal NCBI / PubMed account to access Pace Library full-text?

How to configure PubMed.gov Personal (non-Pace affiliated) Accounts to access Pace Library full-text:

1. Go to http://pubmed.gov directly (NOT through the Pace Library – be sure you are NOT authenticated through Pace in any way)
2. Click on the “Login” button at the top, right of the PubMed homepage
3. Create your personal NCBI account using one of the PubMed/NCBI third-party options (NOT Pace)
4. Once you are logged on to your personal NCBI account, click on the button at the top, right that displays your username and select Dashboard
5. On the top, right of the Dashboard page, click “NCBI Site Preferences:

6. On the “NCBI Site Preferences” page, click the “Outside Tool” link:

7. After clicking “Outside Tool,” choose the letter “P,” then browse and click to select “Pace University Library Search for Article”
8. Scroll down and click “Return to the preferences page” and you should see your selection now displayed
   1. Now when searching in PubMed, you should see the Pace Library “Search for Item” button displayed when viewing an article info page / abstract
   2. Use this button to locate full-text in another Pace database OR to initiate an ILLiad Interlibrary Loan request for any articles we do not have in our holdings
